Cala Maestra and Cala Spalmatoio: docking points for our day trips to Giannutri

It is possible to disembark on Giannutri Island using two docking points: Cala Maestra and Cala Spalmatoio.

Cala Maestra, located in the northwestern part of the island, is known for the remains of the ancient Roman port. This area, once part of a large complex built by the noble Roman Domizi/Enobarbi family, also includes the remains of their villa.

The presence of these historic structures allows visitors to have a unique window into the island's past, adding a cultural element to your stay on the Tuscan Archipelago. On the other side of Giannutri Island is Cala Spalmatoio. This cove is especially popular for its peaceful environment and crystal clear waters, ideal for activities such as swimming.

Both creeks are the only areas on the island with free access for swimming, as Giannutri is subject to strict regulations for the preservation of its unique ecosystem. We at "Le Crociere del Sole" company choose the most suitable berth each morning based on sea conditions, thus ensuring the best possible experience for its guests.
